Darius

He is the leader of the Oni clan and one of the Eight Leaves; consequently, he possesses blonde hair and blue eyes, along with the otherworldly beauty characteristic of his kind.

He lives quietly deep within the forests of the Imperial Capital, making full use of his mastery over illusion magic.

His true intentions are inscrutable; he shelters the protagonist, Azusa Takatsuka—who was transported to the Imperial Capital of Tokyo—in his vast estate and treats her with an almost doting kindness.

Possessing a strong sense of responsibility as a leader, he mediates disputes between Rude and Masatora and takes in Kohaku, whose background is a mystery.

In the capital, he earns a living as an antique dealer to avoid detection by the Imperial Army. While his demeanor is elegant and he appears flawless at first glance, he is actually disastrously bad at cooking. He admits that he is "hopeless" in the kitchen, yet—perhaps driven by curiosity—he ends up concocting dishes that are, in Masatora's words, "enough to make one gag." As a result, Rude, who is in charge of the household chores, would prefer he stay out of the kitchen entirely.

While he is kind to those he has taken into his confidence, he harbors an underlying emotional fragility.
