Shuuhei Katagiri

One of the Eight Leaves.

He is the son of Seishirou Katagiri—the Chief of the General Staff and the highest-ranking figure in the Imperial Army—and is himself an elite officer serving as the deputy commander of the army's elite unit dedicated to subjugating vengeful spirits. (Incidentally, his late mother was of noble birth.)

Despite his background, he is a gentle, likable young man with a wide range of hobbies. He is popular among the women of the Imperial Capital, thanks to his soft-spoken nature and charming way with words, as well as his tendency to look out for Arima, who is socially awkward.

He is fond of the confection known as "Siberia."

Although he appears to have grown up in a privileged household, his relationship with his father became strained after his mother’s death from illness; he harbors a tendency toward self-deprecation, viewing himself merely as a tool for his father.

He also has an appreciation for music and is skilled at playing the violin.
